Balcony love !

Saturday 28 February 2015

I recently moved to Perth and into a shiny new apartment...There's lots to love about it but what I'm most obsessed with is my balcony!

I literally spend hours there from day to night, it's definitely my favourite place to be at the moment!

I have my morning cappuccino out there, my afternoon smoothie & my cheeky evening glass of wine... I sunbathe, read, catch up with the world on my iPad or just relax and listen to the world go by :-)

Do you have a balcony? What's your favourite way to enjoy it?!

The Chop!

Saturday 21 February 2015

Since moving to Australia over a year ago my hair has definitely seen better days... Unbelievable amounts of sun damage, salt damage, bleach damage to name a few.... coupled with the fact I didn't get it professionally coloured or cut once... unlike in England where I never went longer than 6 weeks! It also showed me how bad the sun really is for your hair as I don't use heat styling products at all and my hair was still in super terrible condition!

This meant that it was super long (for me at least!) but very dry and damaged and the ends just looked terrible!

It for sure showed me the importance of regular trims and not over bleaching as unfortunately no matter what hair products say, split ends really can't be reversed.....

...this meant there was only one thing for it, snip snip!

Unless you've been living under a rock, I reckon you'll have noticed 2015 has so for been the year of the chop! So many celebrities are rocking #shorthairdontcare ! So I thought I would see what all the hype was about.....

I am soooo happy with how it turned out it feels sooo much healthier and thicker and much much softer!! .... and now I think I have the bug, who knows next time I might go even shorter!

What do you think of shorter hair... is it a trend here to stay?!

Happy New Year from Sydney!

Friday 2 January 2015

Wow!

It's been an absolutely crazy few months! 2014 has been the busiest and best year of my life!

I have so much to blog about that I don't even know where to begin...

I spent New Years Eve at Sydney Harbour watching the amazing fireworks which definitely have to be seen to be believed, they were so incredible and it was definitely a once in a life time experience. If you get chance to spend New Years in Sydney I HIGHLY recommend it... Just be prepared to get there early for a great spot!

Sydney Selfie

Monday 4 August 2014

Now I'm living back in the big city... well actually, still by the beach but Sydney nonetheless, it's neccessary to look at least half presentable again!

I definitely got in to the no makeup habit and it's crazy how normal it became. In England I would rarely leave the house without a flick of mascara at the very least!

My skin definitely appreciated the welcome change and I can see such an improvement after giving it a much needed breather.

In fact, now I feel better without wearing so much makeup, which is a complete 180 from my winter skin in England!

Just a touch of powder and blush, a smudge of eyeliner and a flick of mascara is now my go to makeup look. So much quicker, easier and better for my skin... and much easier to remove at the end of the day too... happy days!

Byron Bay

Thursday 31 July 2014

This week was my last week in Byron Bay.

It was definitely bittersweet as I have had some fantastic times there and made friends for life. It was always going to be temporay living in Byron though and it was time to head back to Sydney.

To celebrate my last few days I booked a luxury hotel to make the most of it.

Luckily it was great weather too so I got to enjoy Wategos Beach, my favourite Byron beach for the last time.... at least for a while.

Surfers Paradise

Tuesday 29 July 2014

Last month I visited Surfers Paradise. It was my first time out of New South Wales and into Queensland!

I wasn't sure what to expect as I'd heard very mixed reviews about Surfers Paradise but I loved it! I must admit it doesn't have the same 'charm' as Byron Bay, there's no quirkiness or laid back Australian vibe, but it's not trying to be that type of place either. Yes it is touristy but you just have to embrace it... enjoy the holiday feeling!

If you know what to expect you won't be disappointed... great beaches, great shopping, great entertainment and great nightlife! What's not to love?!
